I've asked this in a similar thread:

How is the HSC Timetable determined? Who decides which courses are going where and why?

the board of studies looks at all the cantidature in the state and does it accordingly
thats y u wont find ne1 that will have 2 exams at the same time
they cant afford to make that kind of mistake id hope
not same day....i meant same time e.g. if some 1 had biology and physics they wouldnt put them at 9:25-12:30 for both

you may get a couple of people who are affected in the whole state, but generally there will be no one with an exam on at the same time. if they do have a couple of people in that situation, they re-schedule the exam (under tight security)

I have geography and engineering on the same day. That is just carnage.
