Do you HAVE to be rank 1 to not be affected by your cohort? Or can you be like for example 4th, and still not be affected?

I go to a good school; ranked 137 and I chose Standard English because I think I can get better marks and ranks in Standard and I know some good people in my school who do in my school who are doing Standard. Will I be affected badly?

If you think you can do well in Standard, then you'd be better off in advanced.

But the thing is only the top 60 people in my school do Advanced, that's what I've been told.

Plus I don't consider myself "good" at English. I got an D on my Half Yearly report, and I'm horrible at analyzing texts. I could be better if I put in greater effort though, gonna have to next year.

Well, if you think so - then maybe keep Standard.
