There's far too many songs that I would class as 'all-time favourites', thus I will list two songs which, in my humble opinion, stand as monuments that need to be worshipped.

Sonic Youth -- Teenage Riot

The Rolling Stones -- Paint It Black

I discovered 'Teenage Riot' after purchasing Sonic Youth's 'Daydream Nation,' an impulse buy instigated by a preoccupation to build a respectable indie rock cannon. Initially, the record didn't live up to the hype, but while driving through the Western Suburbs of Sydney on route to a family gathering, the album just hit. 'Teenage Riot,' with its opening murmuring's of Kim Gordon and the excitement once the guitars kick in make it an unforgettable favourite.

While flipping through the TV guide I discovered 'Tour of Duty' was to receive a late night spot, a show which was highly praised by my Dad. Once I heard the intro I knew that 'Paint It Black' was a song which would never tire. In fact, I rewound the opening roughly ten times just so I could listen to it again. Subsequently, 'Paint It Black' led me to really take notice of the Rolling Stones, a permanent fixture of my play list. My obsession with the song also led me to burn two CDs full of 'Paint It Black' covers.
