Late reply, but you could just pick up a BA in UNSW, and do some politics & IR (and throw in some European / Asian studies), plus a language and arrange an exchange.
Plenty do that, and use the BA to find their 'niche' area.

Agreed, B International Studies is pretty much compulsory International Relations major, must go on exchange (but you don't have priority). BA is very flexible and that is recommended imo.
