Personally I find that Apple products are just getting ridiculous now, they've been subtlety copying certain aspects of Android and the last iOS update was just ridiculous in terms of data size. As for the bending bit? I personally don't really care but maybe it can encourage users to switch to an alternative phone. Just my thoughts.

Saw some poor peasant using a non-Iphone phone today and it just broke my heart how much poverty there is in this world

I told my butler and maid all about it when I got home, and said if they were ever considered buying a samsung or some other pleb phone they should come to me and I will loan them the money they need to buy an iPhone- at standard interest rates of course

Decided to buy my girlfriend a gold iPhone 6 but realised even logging in exactly as clock ticks over to midnight, the reservation stock are already gone for all the stores within walking or short drive from the CBD. :(

Check out Tim Cook's own apple watch. It is stainless steel with white band - but with red crown.

The red crown is usually only for some of the gold versions but Tim Cook managed to get a red crown onto the stainless steel model.

Maybe apple made it especially for him. You can't buy it.

Here is the video: http://www.cnbc.com/id/102546241

or alternatively here: https://twitter.com/cnbcnow/status/586602914682134528

I made a screen snapshot of it:

9to5mac have a story on it here: http://9to5mac.com/2015/04/10/tim-c...-are-great-in-visit-to-palo-alto-apple-store/

I'm still not sure if I want to buy one yet lol. I just feel that every Apple first gen product ends up looking totally rubbish when the next version comes out with significant improvements.

I bought my fiance the Apple Watch with the pink bracelet/modern buckle but she also wants to get me one for my birthday. I can't decide if I want just the grey/black Sport (which is a lot cheaper and I like the matte black look) or the more fashionable stainless steel one with the sapphire glass and a classic buckle band or leather loop...

Imo, dont get it.

Just wait for the next one. It would be like buying the 1st gen iPhone but then a better one comes out (iPhone 3G)

I assume the bands are designed to be interchangeable?

Are there any third-party bands available?

Gold plating isn't on my consideration list :)

I think I'll just go for the Sport. This way if I want to upgrade later I won't feel so guilty, and I think the black band looks fine. Maybe later this year I'll get a leather one if it looks cheap but given they're all functionally identical, I find it hard to justify the premium.

That being said I bought the missus the pink one since she.. likes pink. Damn, that was an expensive colour preference.

Pretty much the same reason I went with the Sport. Had mine for just under a week now, and have to admit it's a pretty nifty device. Wore a Pebble before, though utility-wise this a whole different beast. Love checking Tripview while on the move without having to pull out my phone. Activity tracking is pretty neat, battery life not bad at all (~30% left by the time I go to bed typically). Only issue really is the slow loading of apps, though that should get much better with watchOS 2 later this year.

Also considered getting the leather loop as an extra band, the blue works surprisingly well with the space grey sport, but at $229...

Yeah I'm looking forward to watchOS 2 as well. Now I just need to get my company to let me have my calendar/email on two devices since I currently use it on my iPad. Will have a think about buying a leather band later if I get sick of the sport band. I'm hoping it looks good on my wrist and not too cheap (despite it being.. the cheapest!).

The Sydney City store was sold out of black sport after all so just went with the Apple Watch instead lol.
