Sheesh. i'm such an idiot! i know what halogens are!!!!! *stupid stupid*

what i ACTUALLY meant is "are haloalkanes the same as halons?"

coz, i looked up halons on wikipedia and i got redirected to haloalkanes... But there was kinda a lot of info there, so i'm kinda confused...... so, are halons just special types of haloalkanes?

sorry, for my blatantly stupid previous thread!!! ^^'

u r weird...... :S...... haloalkanes and halons are the same.. they are both halogenated alkanes with all Hydrogens substitued with Flurine and Bromine Common uses include fire extinguishers

I would assume one is common name (halon) and one is systematic name (haloalkane)
