The SC is coming up really soon.
Are you ready for it?

let's have a study thread here like the seniors.

i'll ask a question to do with any of the SC subjects and someone answers it, then post their own question.

i think i'll ask a science question :D.

How many neutrons does Carbon-14 have? (i know it's probably an easy question but hey isn't the SC easy).

I think it's 8 or something.

Amy's wage increased by 50%. Her new wage is $480 per week.
What was her former wage?
Yeap. It is 8 neutrons.

Natural selection is the theory that over a period of time, the weak or disadvantaged organism's die out. It is the theory that, for example, an animal out of a group of zebras has a long neck. There are many animals grazing in the area and after a while the lower branches of the trees have been stripped. Those long neck zebras can reach the higher branches and have a higher chance of survival. "Survival of the Fittest"

Also from Wikipedia:
Natural selection is the process by which favorable heritable traits become more common in successive generations of a population of reproducing organisms, and unfavorable heritable traits become less common, due to differential reproduction of genotypes.

() To stop the spread of communism.
() We were supporting the USA
() To increase our international reputation

Which of these events has the highest probability?
() Tossing a head on a coin.
() Rolling a two on a normal die
() Choosing Monday at random from the days of the week
() Randomly choosing an "e" from the vowels "a,e,i.o and u"

Geography: Describe how urban and rural communities are changing

Urban communities are accumulating in population and rural community populations are declining due to issues such as drought, lack of infrastructure, recreation and facilities in rural communities.

Science: Explain the difference between voltage and current

Voltage is the pushing force that pushes against the electrons in a circuit. Some people call it energy but what the hell.

Current is the flow of electrons in a circuit.

Maths 5.1: 2t - {(t+1)/3}

To be honest and this is very embarrassing, I don't really know. Is it 5t+1/3?

Maths 5.2: find the y intercept of y = 4x - 3

-3

Maths 5.3: A $260 television is discounted by 12%. A further discount reduced the price to $205.60. Calculate the discount as a percentage.

History: Outline two cultural and/or social changes in post war decade Australia

1960's-
American and British culture invasion! The Beetles hair styles, the mullet, mini-skirts, pillbox hat, the Rolling Stones, Hippy clothing etc.

Equal Pay for Equal Work and further education opportunities for women. Feminism and that sort of thing.

Thanks for starting this thread. It has made me realise that the SC ain't basic for me after all.
