whoa... so many questions going around.. *is lost*

my turn to ask a question. Outline the different policies that Aboriginal Australians.. um... underwent... you know what i mean =]
Protection - theory that aboriginals need "protection"
Assimilation - designed to absorb Aboriginals into the white society
Integration - to enable Aboriginals to become part of the broader Australian community, while maintaining their own identity
Self Determination - have no idea
Reconciliation - present policy includes Rudd 'sorry'' speech.

oooh crap:uhoh:

o hai, I can answer this. :D

Protection policy (1907, I think?) - Implemented in a time it was believed Aboriginals were a dying race. Based on the paternalistic attitudes of the Europeans, in which they believed they knew better than and knew what was best for the Aboriginals.
Assimilation policy (1937) - Revolved around incorporating Aboriginals into mainstream Australian society. Aboriginals were expected to disregard their language, culture and heritage and adopt the ways of the whites. Many Aboriginal children were taken from their homes and their parents and placed under the care of a white foster family. Plus, some were fed the lies that there parents had abandoned them or died. Furthermore, many were put into reserves and camps and tortured.
Integration policy (unsure of date) - Gave Aboriginals more freedom to practice their own culture, however were still widely encouraged to incorporate themselves into white society.
Self determination policy (again, unsure of date) - What the Aboriginals had been fighting for - freedom to determine their own way of life. Aboriginals were entirely permitted to practice their own culture, without fear of being restrained by the expectations to adopt white ways.

Q. In what ways did Robert Menzies manipulate the Petrov affair for his own political advantage?

Differentiate

4x^3 - 2x^2 + 6x - 4 = o
Is in no way a SC type problem.

12x^2 - 4x + 6

Is the answer however, if any 10's are interested.

And thank God for that. I'm not even worried about it, I just can't wait for our teachers to stop going on about it.

Trials were for the SC subjects (eng sci maths geo his IT) and I've got yearlies for the rest of them .... mostly electives.

:( I can't even sell my textbooks till then. I feel like burning my geo and history ones. Actually, I'd rip them to shreds THEN burn them.

So are most of you like FREE to do anything in class after next week or what??

Ah alright, well that's not too bad then. I thought you had two sets of exams for all your subjects or something. :S

Well, not free to do whatever we want really, but yeah, I highly doubt many of us are gonna take lessons all that seriously after the SC (not that we ever did in the first place :D).

I have work experience the week after SC.
And from the 24th November - 11th December we have activities then on the 12th December we have our graduation ceremony.
We don't have to go to school after that. YAY.

Same here. My dad (a teacher at a normal public school) asked me last weekend 'So Isobel, you've told work you can't come in next weekend due to your exams?'

There is no way in fuck's name that I am sacrificing 12 hours worth of work or pay just to do slightly better in the SC.

ionic is transferring of electrons to other atoms
covalent is sharing electrongs with other atoms

solve for m:

m^2 - 6m - square root(m^2 - 6m - 3) = 5

Band 1s are for kids who have put in no effort at all. Seriously you are going to get a band 4 at worst :)
