given ur estimate of marks + ranks, this is what i put into the calculator. Only a rough indication

so ye, you're probably falling in that 85-90 range. possibly scraping a 90 depending on ur english, which im sure you probably did better than u expected

wow really? ok cool!

this was my estimate on what I would receive in my HSC mark

English adv 72
maths adv 87
Chemistry 85
Physics 87
maths ext 30
SOR 80

and that came out as around 85 atar.
hopefully I've underestimated my HSC mark and gain a higher HSC mark so that my ATAR will be higher.

Don't trust ATAR calculators - they seem to be quite inaccurate as I've seen people put in the same marks and have a massive difference.

I would expect 84-86.

no. They usually are no more than one atar point different. The reason why people claim them to be "quite inaccurate" is because they have no idea what they are putting in - fact.

I estimated my 2010 atar straight after i finished and was only off by 0.05 because i knew how raw marks and alignments worked, unlike many people.

yeah I guess atar calcs are pretty accurate as long as you put in ur estimated hsc mark not your estimated raw mark cos they get aligned or you internal assessment mark cos this gets modified.

I've seen estimated HSC marks and actual HSC marks be quite off - although those subjects didn't exactly have the most consistent scaling property.

so are you saying that his marks is an under estimate or over estimate?
and with those subjects, is scaling dramatically different every year?
