Haha no I'm an Aussie male, and I'll give the country road bag a miss. Honestly I don't know when country road became "cool". We've been buying my grandpa shirts from there every birthday & christmas for 10 years lol. He is pretty pimp tho...

Don't get a navy blue backpack. All the people I see with them are always sitting alone

I use just a black canvas messenger bag. They stand up to abuse, fit A4 things and look alright. They're comfy too.

Satchels are the other way around aren't they? Like standing up bags? That wouldn't really be my thing, but go for whatever you like.

standard uni stuff:

notebook
couple of pens
phone
wallet
keys
lunch
drink bottle

so unless you plan on spending a bit on buying food at uni all the time, can't really carry all that.

any bag is a good bag, as long as it carries your belongings.
