I write for a music website but I think prediction of the BDO is pointless - theres always so many stupid rumours made up. I totalled all the rumours and there was this huge setlist with about 40 huge bands.

It's usually mid to late January...this year it was the 23rd & 24th I think...correct me if I'm wrong. It's usually about $100. I'm looking at losing my BDO virginity next year...so it should be great.
Last year it was on the 1st of February - the day before school. Was fuckin shit.

I got burnt to buggery in the sun - rocked up at home about 4am and had to get up at 6am the next day for the first day of school. fuckin shit day that was.

It's looking pretty good, in my own opinion, but I reckon that last year's was waaaaay better.

I wish Muse would be there but that's highly unlikely since they're touring America at the mo.... I can't believe I missed them :(:(:(

Oh and slipknot and killswitch engage are likely for the next announcement. Though expect slipknot to play early in the day on mainstage.

This year's lineup is pretty bad so far :( (Yes, I know we all have our own tastes. I don't think I need to really state that this is only my opinion)

The only band I even remotely like so far is Little Birdy.
Was soooooo praying (and praying... and praying again) that Nine Inch Nails or Tool would be here this year. But no.

I thought the BDO was meant to be more of a heavy rock festival but, well. No. Foo fighters, fair enough. Metallica, great. Beastie Boys? :(

Killswitch Engage should be interesting though, if they turn up.
And as for the other rumours, AC/DC, The Cure, Coldplay, they'll all be good.
Let's just hope they actually turn up and I'm not left with dodgy Grinspoon and the John Butler Trio :|

definately needs NIN on the bill. I'm excited about SOAD, not so much because i like the music, but because they're a fun live band. Killswitch should be good.

SOAD are the main highlight for me this year. Fairly disappointed, and it'll come down to the side bands as to whether i go or not. 1200 techniques would go a long way to helping me go back.

I doubt they'll be playing, though if they are, i am there. AC/DC won't be playing, i cannot see a band that big not having been in the first announcement - it'd cause shockwaves everywhere, and besides, it doesn't really suit the BDO crowd (younger generation).

Muse coming back would be a bonus, but i doubt it. Chimaira wont be coming, they just toured with In Flames (AND FUCKING MISSED BRISBANE THE BASTARDS). A Perfect Circle probably won't be coming, because they did a concert early this year, instead of this year's BDO, though if they did, i'd be there ++.

All in all, not that pleased, but still its an okish lineup.

I thought A Perfect Circle would have a decent chance of coming because they're releasing a new album later this month (with that admittedly horrible cover of "imagine" on it, along with other songs relating to war and peace). I REALLY hope they do because their show earlier this year was absolutely amazing.

And this is a little off-topic but I just had to say this. Chimaira/In Flames concert was *BLOODY* amazing. Me and my friends got front row center (in Sydney) and we were literally like.... 30cm away from the band the whole time. Every time they'd play a solo and stand very close to the edge of the stage we'd just reach out and we could strum their guitars and tap their mikes and everything. DAMN that was a good show.
Sorry you missed it :)

I missed it, and think about stabbing someone because of it every day until i get to see them live. Though their CD may or may not be out by this xmas (are they not also doing a remix CD with Pez aswell?) but if it is, then WOOHOO and hopefully they do - that'd rule and I'd be there without a doubt.

ps: DAMN YOU FOR CHIMAIRA/IN FLAMES :( :( :( my mates said it was really farking awesome, and i trust they would have been correct. i <3 both of them.
