so i emailed the zoo and got the following reply:

"The current student rate is $28.00. I have no record of a $19.50 student rate.

If you are holding a current 2009 FULL TIME student card, you will be able to take advantage of our current special student offer of $15.00.

Please show your ID on entry."

so i suppose thats a plus for us, i'll figure out timings tomorrow, i cant be bothered now lol

yep, everything is separate

so im gonna get a train to townhall, then change at townhall to a train that goes to circular quay, then ferry to the zoo
my train comes at 9.31 and is at townhall at 10.16
so i think i'll be at circular quay at 10.40 and the pier is 200m away (so the website says)

do you want to meet at the piers or at the zoo??

i think the zoo ferry comes every 15min or something
if we're meeting at the pier, im pretty sure pier 2 goes to the zoo

131500.com.au is a good site to plan your trip

bahahaha, yeah miss anonymous summed up the course pretty well

boring but easy-ish

-the final exam was basically memorising the lecture notes
-there was a leaf litter assignment, where in a lab/practical bags of leaf litter from various places were placed in trays and we had to count the bugs that were there, then write a report accounting for why there were x amount of bugs/what their roles were in the ecosystem etc (basically bullsh*tting)
-you had to hand in your prac book for marking (pretty easy)--but we had to go to taronga zoo to answer a bunch of questions (or if you really wanted to, you could google for most answers)
-there was a pamphlet (worth 10%--devastated because i got 100%) on an environmental issue that was assigned to you

i think that was it,
the labs/pracs were dead boring (lets go to centennial park and count the birds/draw a map of the lake area/count the gunk in the lake, wooo)

but all in all, an easy credit

Leaf litter prac was one of the worst. :mad1:

"There's another isopod...write that down...oh, and another one..."
"Nah, we already counted that one."
"Which one?"
"That one."
"...how do you know we've already counted it?"
"Because...first it was over there, but I saw it move to there - hey, there's another one, by the way..."
"How do you know we haven't already counted THAT one?"

Come to think of it, counting the stupid birds on the lake was much the same.
DAMN. I never want to be an ecologist.
