Get a tablet PC instead and you don't need to worry about that crap. Just write all your itsy bitsy little notes on a computer. I do mean write.

But, eh... do your study notes on loose-leaf paper, but do your notes in class in a workbook.

yah, never ever do classwork on looseleaf, otherwise u'll loose it, maybe not all, but bits and pieces, and invariably, it'll be the exact info u want. looseleaf only for study

I use looseleaf for study and class notes... if you carry a folder/binder around with you every day, you put them there and they don't get lost. the only subject i use a book for is maths, because I can't find that graph paper on looseleaf.

It depends on what subjects... for most of my subjects I used looseleaf, because carrying a whole book to school everyday gets quite heavy (I did all exercise books for Yr11, and that didn't work out too well). I put each day's work in a plastic slip and file away in a manila folder. Everything is clearly labelled. But I guess it only works if you're organised and don't lose things. Best system for maths because you can lend other people just a pg of your work and not your whole book - make sure they give it back though and you put it back in the right place.

For English I used one of those 3-subject notebooks - one section for AoS, one for Advanced and one for Extension. Worked out well because I could always flip back to previous work in class. And its satisfying to flip through and see all the neatly set out work and highlight stuff.

I used looseleaf. It's a lot easier, but if you are disorganised, I would recommend sticking to exercise books because it is easy to lose sheets.

That sounds like a good idea, except did you file the worksheets the teacher gave you separately or glued them in?

I used loose leaf, but i never took the paper out of my folders until we'd finished a topic, then i transfered it to another folder at home

Use loose leaf, it's annoying having to take out your binder notebook from your folder just to write and then putting it back in again. Yeah, so go the loose leaf paper.

i started out using books but found loose leaf to be much better... however i did lose some of my notes i guess if ur organised it wont b a problem

I didn't get that many worksheets, but the ones I did get I kept them in a plastic folder at home. The subject notebooks have these little pockets that you can put worksheets in if you need to bring them everyday (as was the case for my Coleridge booklet).
