I have decided im probably going to have to drop extension maths next term if i want to ensure i do well in all my subjects in the hsc. I might need or want to know 3u (maybe even 4u) concepts if i decide on doing something with computers in university so im wondering if anybody knows anything about them?

If you work your arse of now, you wouldn't need to think about bridging.

Cramming 2 years work into a week, I don't think i'd want to unless I have to.

Depending on the uni you go to (and the degree you do) you will have assumed 3u/2u with recommended 4u/3u

you will need 3 unit assumed knowledge for any science, and you dont want to do bridging for 3 unit, you have to pay for it at uni and you lose hollidays as well before uni starts

Any links with information? Im probably not going to be doing a science in uni, im thinking of maybe ebusiness lol. Considering i want to start an online business im begining to consider aiming for high irrelevant uni courses and struggling in extention maths as a waste of time.

imo knowing what a turing machine is and if something is turing compete won't help you in business so computer science probably isn't your best bet.
I know UNSW (Australian School of Business) has courses on information systems which might be of interest to you. Information systems is kinda a cross between business and computing (wikipedia and other sources will explain it better to you than me)

Lol computer science and business is two seperate ideas, im just thinking im probably going to just do ebusiness in the end no matter what i do in uni so mayaswell just get a degree related to that and remove stress by dropping 3u now. Anyway i could do that IS course or Commerce / Information Systems but i think i need 3u assumed knowledge which brings me back to whether or not i can just do bridging course? If i do 3u in year 12 i probably wouldnt be able to get the required atar of 96.

if your ext1 mark is that bad it wont be counted since you are doing greater than 10 units.

and as long as you're getting E3 and you'll be fine
which most people will end up with E3 anyway....
since E3 is the assumed or maybe recommended level that you should be at...

at best you could always push for an E4 :D

Yes but i cant really handle the workload of 3u and i just dont understand some of the extention stuff. If i do 3u maths next year then its very likely my ATAR will drop due to having wasted too much time on that.

In my opinion, bridging courses are just a waste of time and possibly money. Do the work now, and have time off then.

I've looked it up and at unsw its $300 and 40 hours for 3u bridging. Id waste a lot more time and money if i continued 3u tbh. Money because of extra textbooks and papers and tuition.

Lol if you're struggling with Maths now what makes you think you can handle it in Uni. It's a whole new level there mate. And don't give me this whole but my marks don't matter shit, if you fail, you will have to do extra subjects etc to make it up, and your WAM will be useful in getting a job (just like Unis don't accept low atar kids, Employers dont really look at low WAM kids (i.e <65)

I think you misunderstood a lot of what i said. It's not that i cant do the work at all more that its taking too much time. Im probably not going to choose a degree in university which has too much focus on maths and i deffinitely wont let myself fail in uni.

STUDY MATE! it might be hard now but give it some time and effort, and it will be bloody easy + you'll love it! lol

and MX1 scales a heck lot better than SDD, i would rather invest more time into maths than SDD... and i do! lol

Well I'm just saying it would be wise to keep MX1. Or maybe try MX2 for a while, you might fall in love with it too. LOL
