hey boys,

in week 9 supplementary questions... how the fuck do you do 3(a) where it wants you to calculate the 'consequent expected correlation of returns amongst each pair of assets'?

Ok, i got the answer here. as I'am typing this, I will use # for the square root.

E (Ra) = (0.5 * 0.03) + (0.30 * 0.07) + (0.20 * -0.04)
= 2.8%

E(Rb) = 6.5%

E(Rc) = 1.9%

sd A = #0.5(3 - 2.80)^2 + 0.30(7 - 2.80)^2 + 0.20(-4 - 2.80)^2
= 3.82%

sd B = 5.77

sd C = 2.43%

A/B pAB = 0.5(3 - 2.80)(4- 6.50)
+0.3(7 - 2.80) (15 (i think) - 6.50)
+ 0.20(-4 - 2.80)(0 - 6.50)/ 3.82 * 5.77

= 0.88
pAC = -0.99
pBC = -0.92

Umm, that is actually quite easy. B. Finance, B. Commerce, e.t.c. are all quite easy degrees, Cyph is just having trouble because he never turns up to class:p.

I disagree with you about B.Finance and B.Commerce being easy. Try ACFI 2010 and ACFI 2030 :) After doing those subjects, you will have a different opinion, trust me

PE is project evaluation, study it, there is a 15 mark question on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For ACFI2030 the lecturer is shit, the group project is very board, the guy donst set out whats required. As a result the average mark was about 60%. The lecture dude talks more shit then Neil does. He would just go off the topic.

For as ACFI 2010, the lecture is a legend :) , its just the topic of consoildations that is the problem.
