Hey all :)

Was just wondering what the policy was for calculator errors in HSC exams? Say, you had all working out correct and showed the correct final line of working, but punched it into your calculator wrong and then got the wrong answer, do you still get the marks?

An (oversimplified) example for a, say, 2 mark question:
y = 4 + 4
y = 9

Would that be work 1 mark or 2?

All help is appreciated :)

Thanks!:wave:

Normally, 1 mark is awarded for the correct answer and the rest of the marks are awarded for working out. Since you get 1 mark for the correct answer, by just writing down the correct answer you may not be awarded with the 1 mark. So, I think you'll get 1 mark for the working out.

what is was told is that if u got your working out right but the final answer wrong then u will get some marks.:D

But if u get ur working out wrong and answer right u don't get any marks:confused:

If u get a right answer but with nooooooo working out u will also get some marks:jaw:

I know some of these sound stupid, but this is what i was told.;)
