1) I don't really like the picture actually. Ah but if I need to pick something, I would probably go for black background to highlight the picture? (i.e. the black-white background to promtoe contrast that further enhances the picture

2) I am not a very visual person so I really don't see any cultural indicators from that picture. But I would probably say that the image is quite degrading to Asian ethnic race seeing that the picture represents Asians in rabbit costumes. May be the picture is trying to represent Asian race as a storm of plague that storms through places to deplete all the resources possible....you know rabbits are introduced species to Australia and these animals caused a lot of trouble for Australia in many ways especially the agricultural industry and the Australian ecosystems. May be the picture is trying to promote that ideal that Asians are like that - migrating to places where they suit and consume all the resources available and just move on like that and cause further trouble by rapid expansion of the population.

I think my analysis has been quite shocking to hear in some ways but from the way the picture is being represented, my way of analysis doesn't seem that harsh at all...

To OP: Yeah, I forgot to add some critically analysis on the part where I said that rabbits had a significant impact on the Australian ecosystems. I will probably expand a bit further and say that this also represents the amalgamation of race (aka inter-racial relations that are caused by the increasing Asian population and the conflicts among races. Via this method of representation composer may express his uneasiness of the role that Asians people take part in this. However, the better analysis would probably include that the impact that the Asians had on Australian would be increased racial problems among Australian society such as Cronulla Riot (even though this is NOT the best example as it is not really between East Asians people & Australia).

But as kaz said earlier, this is clearly the work of bullshitting and whether you get a mark for this or not really depends on markers. If your markers are pro-Asians (or non-White Australia Policy supporters), well the chance is, the marks you will get aren't going to be great.

I was reading that and going 'woah, this is pro' and then Namu goes 'think my analysis has been quite shocking' and I feel stupid.

TBH, don't you just hate it when they ask if you why you like a picture and you like it's crap? *sigh, teachers and their conformity.

My immediate thought on this is the way Japanese culture has been reduced to childlike/cartoonish culture in the eyes of other nations as result of technological change. There is a particular word for this... im not to sure what it is... but this is what i see the photo as representing, the rise of a new Japanese culture in the modern world, one which, though it makes its country a lot of money, it also seems to degrade the integrity of traditional japanese culture.

Perhaps you should research the photographer first, and see what kind of topics and issues his/her photography addresses before you make a conclusion for the second question.

I think I agree with may-cat's interpretation the most.
