What do you guys want to do once you leave high school?

I'd like to become a doctor or a teacher. As a small child I had this weird fixation with astronomy, and I read books and books on stars. It's a shame I'm not doing physics. Also, I really like languages, so maybe I'll learn some while at uni.

Im very interested in science, especially physics. But im also interested in engineering as its more satisfying when you create something physical which people can use. Im also interested in computer game development which is pretty much software engineering.

I used to want to be a journalist, but now I'm not so sure. I want to do something that's creative, but I'm also into finance/law. Being a movie/television producer would be awesome, albiet entirely unrealistic. But still, something along those lines, you know, where I get to be in a busy and competitive environment and have the opportunity to be creative & business-minded at the same time.

For uni, I really like the sounds of the combined degree Bachelor of Arts in Communication (Media Arts and Production) / Bachelor of Law at UTS. It's got a killer UAI though, but still, something to aim for I guess.

deciding between medicine and vet science. leaning more towards medicine atm. but i was also considering forensic science but im kinda over that right now

Haha, that's like me! I lvoed astronomy and I've always wanted to become an astronomer when I was in primary school. For the past few years, I've wanted to do Pharmacy. Now I'm not sure It's a tug-of-war between doing that or a degree in uni relating to Humanities and the Arts.

In uni I'd like to study education. I'm not sure whether I want to become a secondary or primary school teacher. Primary school teachers don't seem to do much...? Well the school I went to was pretty crap so that's probably why...

My year advisor said he could see me as a primary teacher -_- but DEFINITLY not high...
geez...what's that suppose to imply?

Anyway the UAI needed to get into usyd I think is 90? Or roughly around there? =S

Or something...does anyone know?

PS, when I was younger I wanted to be just like Britney Spears (oh the shame....)

I have no idea what career path I'd like to take, but I'd like to study Business and see where it takes me.

Com/Law or Arts/Law at UNSW or Usyd- branch out into corporate or international law, I wouldn't mind studying intellectual property rights overseas in the States. Unlikely though.

Hmm, well I could wright for a couple of pages on this matter, but I'll keep it brief, lol
Prob arts/law at ANU, arts major in forensic anthropology or political science
or international studies/law at UTS or social inquiry/law at UTS - would like to do either human rights law (UN, etc) or criminal prosecution
or arts major in history or political science or archarology or forensic anthropology or anthropology & a language at ANU hoping to get into academia but that won't happen cos i'm not smart enough.
or an investigative journalist/activist/writer, but thats unlikely aswell

Wanna do international exchange though. Anyone else??

maybe sumtin with mafs, physics, chemistry

medicine had too much responsibility, so its off my list

dentistry is repetitive, you only have a limited number of procedures to perform i think (ie braces, pulling teeth, fixing teeth, fillings) PLUS did you know it has the highest suicide rates

as for my career etc..
I like science, at the moment I think I'd like to study advanced science at uni, and see where that takes me =]

sle3pe3bumz, aerospace engineering need not mean that you become an astronaut. Think NASA, or more locally Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation's Astronomy & Space Facilities, Astrophysics, Radio Astronomy, and Space Engineering division.

As for a job, maybe either a pharmacist or a political scientist or a vet.
