Sydney doesn't need a new rail system. You guys just need a big round-a-bout.

The north west line was already announced before the last state election, then they cancelled it after they had the election in the bag....

They will no doubt cancel this project in a few years...

"..completed by 2018"
what needs to happen is that this new tunnel line should continue from Central to Randwick, UNSW, Maroubra and La Perouse.

That was the idea before to extend it to UNSW. I doubt we'd see it implemented in our lifetimes though  but then again, it was just an idea. Anyways even if they started operations now you'd be out of uni by then Minai :p

Given NSW previous history in transport infrastructure building, any proposed new transport link will be subject to at least 10 years of cost benefit analysis, model building and environment impact statements and if they don't change their mind about building it because of a change in government policy, or a lack of $$$ (probablity 99%), then they will take minimum another 10 years to slowly build it

Let's hope the NW line isn't just another load of hot air like last time...
