oh man i just remembered, did you know it costs only $19 000usd in the U.S for a new mustang yet like $170,000aud for one in Aus. Doesn't it seem unfair? like a honda civic in the US costs $16 500usd. Any one feel like importing one? lol

It's called an import tariff you douche. Importing one yourself would cost you more than it would to buy one here.

R34 = 4600 x 1785 x 1360
R35 = 4655 x 1895 x 1370
It's not that much bigger.

does it look like it is possible to get a brand new mustang here? I know someone who imported an brand new s2000 for less than 20k and crashed engine plated it. Might be a solution.

EDIT: Note that a brand new focus in america is also $15,000, not too much difference compared to one in australia, but the mustang is just way outta control.

Ferrari F430 Scuderia in the US - planning to be retailed at USD 220k.

To get in Australia, with 100% import tax, luxury car tax and other assorted duties? Estimated to be more than 550k.

That's almost twice the price. Insanity.

lol no they're pretty different.
Front and rear lights are different design. Body shape is obviously different around the bonnet.
I like the DB9's design more... it seems sleeker and more sophisticated

Should be better in 2010 when tariffs drop.
I've been reading the "2008 dog and lemon guide", which advises on prices for all vehicles 1980 to 2008 in Australia and New Zealand.

The kiwi market is significantly less regulated, and imports have absolutely killed local prices. All the late model Japanese performance cars we pay $20'000+, supra's, skylines etc... Can all be had in fantastic condition for well under $10'000 kiwi dollars. All used cars over there are less than half the price we pay.

Fuck the local industry.

The S2000 was brought here anyway so it doesn't need to be complied since Honda have already done it.

What would you buy if you had 300k. I just think my fren was stupid for buying an new M6 convertible for almost 300k for her 19th, note that this in HK tho.

I used to never look at that price range. But now if i had her money, i'd get a carrera gt, or an nsx, and tune the nsx.

what would you buy if you had that money?
an aston martin

and a toyota supra with 10,000 RWHP

if i had over 300k to spend on a car,
i'd just get a high-end lexus or something

about 150k, or 100k,
then get a weekend thrash car.

maybe a HSV, or a mitsubishi evo x.
