Describe combustion in terms of slow, spontaneous and explosive reactions and explain the conditions under which these occur.
- taken from the chem syllabus under the energy topic

so i was wondering, what exactly is a spontaneous reaction ?

Basically, a spontaneous reaction is one which continues unaided (after the initial ignition temperature has been reached) until all the fuel (energy) has been used up. Hope that helped
