Try pathways? Pathways is pretty good. In my personal opinion, avoid Conquering Chemistry by Roland Smith, how can a guy who can't explain anything in lectures when he can talk put it into words in a book?

you could post this in the chemistry forum for more of a response and even check out the buy and sell forums as you might be able to pick up a good bargain on some books

I recommend Macquarie Revision Guide too. Umm.. u could try Chemistry Context 1 and Surfing. These books are okay but I used them for practice questions.

I used conquering chemistry for school. It's alright coz the info are pretty comprehensive and there are some good info and questions, but i don't rely on one text book. However, i don't like the layout, style guide and the presentation of this book. It's good to use many textbooks to compare information.

definetely Conquering Chem and Macquarie.
Avoid Pathways - they seem convoluted and jump around the topics.

Pathways is needlessly complicated. Conquering Chemistry has good exercises IMO but I dont know about the theory. We dont use textbooks at school, our teacher makes up her own notes and scabs them from a huge number of books. :D
