1. do you enjoy it
2. are you currently doing well enough to have it contribute (considering your school's difficulty)
3. are you able to do decent with minimal study?
1. no not really, especially compared to my other subjects bc I'm more english/art-y
2. likely not, if I walked into the trial now, I would completely bomb it fs, especially bc I tend to struggle with time on math exams :(
3. prolly not, the problem is that I lack a lot of the foundational knowledge bc I was at a really really shitty school beforehand, and so basically missed all of year 10 maths 💀

Guys does anyone else perform the best when they actually don’t try?? Like for English if I did try and actually memorised my essays I feel like I would get 70% but usually I get like close to full marks if I don’t and same goes for alll my other subjects but when I try I get 70% but I don’t know if it’s worth the risk.. 😞 (chem and physics is out of the game tho bye highest I’m getting is 85%)

guysssss I need advice, should I drop ext1 math?!?!? Bc my trial for that is next week friday, but the week after that I have ext 2 english due, my languages speaking assessment and my art trial 😭 and like lowkey im chopped at ext1 math bc I dont have time to study for it and ive been thinking of dropping it for a while 🥀
basically, if I drop it I'm sure it would help with the other tasks coming up, vs keeping it and doing terribly at the trial anyways bc I know I'm not gonna study for it with ext2 english coming up. Plus atm I feel like its my spare unit (im doing 11 in total) bc I do well at all my other subjects except it. But at the same time, I've done the entire course so it feels like a waste to drop it even though I probs wont count it anyways 😭
Sorry for the rant 🙏😭
Ughhh okay so don’t study till the night before and just pray for the best bc ur right it’s almost over.. even if you’re getting a 40% in math ext that’s still better than an 80 in advanced in regards to indicative atars

NO LITERALLY SAME, istg on essays I try to memorise, I must make my mind all flustered and shi and it makes me perform worse, vs just knowing quotes and some practice thesis statements tends to help me do better, it's so strange. literally for our half yearly on tempest/hagseed I got the top mark and I didn't even read the book/play or memorise anything, i swear it works to not read the texts bc then you can just get your opinions from previous 20/20 essays!

real. Cause how did my marks in eng get better the less I cared. But I can't say the same for my other subjects

wait really? ong thats insane-
istg math adv is so annoying bc its not that hard to comprehend, just easy to make mistakes in and there's so many ppl who do it so its really competitive

Yeah me too literally everything I’ve done for English is a days worth of prep and I feel like remembering quotes effect context and some overall idea is better than memorising an essay u probs will struggle to adapt
