Cant wait for the moment of elation when i walk out of the last exam in each subject and the (hopefully) relief when i get results and i am free to do life (until uni starts)
I'm ngl I feel like even if it's less than what we expect we'll still be so happy that it's over

and anyways in uni transferring is always an option so we'll all get where we want to be!!

(still manifesting that ATAR tho)

Guys I feel like I'm gonna end up with a spinal condition after the HSC

Like after every 3 hr paper my neck is dead

Any tips on how to reduce strain?

the circle of life...:skip:
omg I remember last year in my eng yearly exam I sat in a really bad position like hunched over my paper for 2 hrs and then my neck was in so much pain for like 2 days and surprisingly it was my neck that hurt and not my hand even after doing 2, 2hr exams. Also I think in year 9 I studied the circle of life song for music

maybe a bit late but invest in either a sit stand desk so you stand when not writing to reduce bad spine posture (you can get those ones that you just stack on your current desk for your computer/keyboard), or a tilting desk so you stop hunching over, height adjustable desk so you have good writing posture (might as well get a full sit stand desk atp). I've also tried sitting on a gym ball which apparently forces you to sit up but i feel it just gave me more back problems than i had to begin with

are u being fr. Don't u want to be done with the hsc
I mean it's nice, esp after getting a good UCAT but I cry myself to sleep every day thinking about how I'm leaving all my baddies if I get into med (I live 6 hours away from Sydney). Also, the structure and having someone else decide what you do is comforting lowkey, and how I'm leaving my Mum by herself and my childhood 😭 ykwim. It's like this 'post-term 1 clarity' that I'm not coming back.

that's fair enough :( it sucks that you have to leave though to do med in the first place 6 hrs is so far
I kind of get you in the whole "leaving childhood" thing - like it's so weird that we're supposed to be functioning adults soon, like how does that work? and for me though assessments suck like I'll def be a little confused without yk school forcing the HSC down my throat ahaha, and yeah I'm so used to the structure of it all
it's so much more for u tho 'cause rural, I couldn't imagine having to leave my family next year in order to do what I wanted, that sounds tough I'm ngl

yo btw how are percentiles looking for UCAT do you know?

For UCAT I'm not sure entirely. I estimated using 2024 ANZ statistics by first subtracting my score from 2700 and then using the difference for 3600 and I guessed through that. But since apparently AR was the most 'tutorable' subtest, I anticipate the threshold will be (marginally) lower in proportion to 2024.

yeahhhhh I looked at the 2024 scores and 90 percentile for AR was already 880 which is INSANE

my QR was pretty chill for me ngl but maybe I'm a math kid? for me the weird one was DM - there were two questions I had never seen before in my life (I used MedEntry to prepare) which certainly threw me off

I've heard wildly different accounts of scoring this year so I'm praying it's as expected

Frrrr. I also used MedEntry but during QR I felt like I walked into a geography exam because I got some absolutely diabolical question about the time of day using the position of the sun and some wack af question about orienting a fictitious stick like wtffff like it was okay but it was just omg mentally draining.

Yooooo that is a super weird question indeed what the heck?? genuinely so random
Mine were all the basic like tax/shopping ones from memory, I might have had a weird couple at the end but nothing stood out to me

I got one in DM that looked like it belonged in AR hahaha it was some like this word = number, so what does this word equal? (I remember the exact q for those curious)

Well when it comes to the end of the year I might dm you to see if you got in !! (and praying we both succeed then we might see each other irl :00)
