if they had been posted in an israel vs palestine thread, the situation would be different. the "topic" of a thread is related to the reason it was created.

i respect you socialism, but in this instance with the explanation given i do not believe that the actions of the individual warrant a complete ban, off topic conversations are completely normal and bos has always had the reputation of being politically neutral and open to (not always civil) debate. i would like to respectfully request an appeal into the ban and appropriate action taken. if your decision stands then so be it, it can be dealt with at a higher level. thank you.

I understand this situation has become quite heated. I'm not allowed to comment publically on the specifics of an infraction.
However
Please be aware that this did not happen in a vacuum. Today's events happened as a direct result of a week's worth of harassment and challenges to my actions in this thread. Please be aware that users need to respect the decisions of moderators, and that if they decide not to follow a moderator's request, they run the risk of receiving an infraction.

Unfortunately, I'll need you to infer that from what i've written in this message, as I am not allowed to publically disclose information regarding to a user's infraction. All those who are confused are encouraged to read my post again.

If I , as a teacher , go guarantor for gossip girl and be her mentor for 2 to 3 days and help her say the right thing would you allow her back . I won’t interfere if it happens again.

if the ban is a result of direct attacks on you, socialism, then i offer apologies on behalf of their actions. however as this is an online forum, differing opinions are inevitable, and to delete and ban all who disagree is, i believe, a step too far, as most if not all users have encountered conflict here. please reconsider an appeal into these events.

The posts were removed, and that was the end of that situation. I then reminded users to stay on topic, but a certain user did not respect that request. that is the reason for the ban. Users are free to discuss their thoughts on both Israel and Palestine, in threads that are more appropriate. When I say, "the end of the situation", I mean that moderator actions taken were not as a result of any particular messages posted in that conversation. As i said earlier, it was not just for the one-time defiance. the user had been publically challenging my decisions for several days in the lead-up and the post today was just the catalyst for the ban.
