B Commerce, accounting & finance. I haven't had to pick my subjects for finance yet ... not sure whether to do the easy ones or the relevant (yet difficult) ones. I've heard it doesn't matter... oh well got another sem to think it over.

You have to have done an actual medical degree (MBBS, BMed, etc) to be a psychiatrist.

Essentially, psychiatrists are just doctors with a fascination in drugs and psychology.

Well i'm not entirely sure how I'm meant to Major with my degree (B Comp Sci Maj Distributed Systems) but I think all I have to do is complete 2 extra elective subjects (CSCI213 - Java Programming and the Internet (done), CSCI214 - Distributed Systems (doing now)). I could have not bothered, but degree looks sexier with a "Maj. Something-or-other" after it :D

Bsci (medical biochem or analytical chemistry)

i cant decide which one to do...whether its better to have the credited major in biochem and do a whole bunch of chem/pathology subjects as electives for interest or try to transfer out of my degree

i hate UTS- emailed my course director i seriously think he just copied and pasted the brief course description for my degree from the UTS website without explaining anything.

hahah yeah uts forums are kind of dead.

science at UTS is alright- but imo it could be more enganging and is more suited to students with no distractions and a desire to go further than what is set out.

cause i have a job, i really dont have time to listen to lecturers bullshit to me about how if they give us the minimum lecture notes for histiology lectures it will entice us to research the rest etc...BS!

sorry needed to vent, i would like to try science somewhere else methinks

I'm currently B IT at usyd majoring in software development, computer science and information systems but im moving to unsw to do two BSc degrees one majoring in computer science and the other most likely in pure maths. I haven't decided whether or not i'll be specialising in a computer science field or not yet, but if i do it'll probably be robotics and/or databases. In the pure maths field i want to get into cryptography mainly.

If you like Chemistry stuff then Macquarie is good, however the biology department is ver unorganised and lack experience tutors/lecturers.

What are your assessments like? Many oral assessments?

hahah righto justin :p

havnt had any oral assesments yet...although im told i will be doing them next year from the subjects in my major, otherwise assesments are ok

i prefer subjects where you have tute/lab assesments every week or 2, that way you keep on top of the subject matter.
