Well, I admit it's not particularly tasteful for public television. But claiming that anybody who enjoyed it for what it was, television, is a lost soul with a bleak future... that's uncalled for to say the least.

Hardcore Pornography? It's on at 9.40pm - 10.50pm on Sunday nights, meaning it is a school night and caring parents would have their children in bed by then already. Dexter is one of the better shows Ten has regurgitated from America and I don't want you completely ruining the chance of it's survival. If you dislike it, feel free to switch to Lipstick Jungle on Seven or CSI: NY on Nine.

I'm sorry Iron, but without you having watched the show, I don't think it's fair that you judge anything.
I am a BIG fan of the show, and watch it on Channel 10 of a Sunday night.
I believe each person should have their own opinion --- my Mum hates the show. It's fine if you don't like it, and if you think it is wrong.
But to condemn those who do enjoy watching is a horrible thing to do. I'm sure there would be something about you that I strongly disagree with.
But don't come into a thread of people discussing their love for Dexter, if you are going to try and shoot them down.

Evil causes suffering, pain, hardship, struggle, stress, etc
Good causes ease, happiness, peace, relaxation, etc

You're wrong. If the market for less outrageous forms of entertainment was increased, so too would the nature of media. What sort of television do you expect people to be interested in? People leading their normal lives? That's just not going to happen Iron.

Listen brother (you probably feel more awkward hearing that, than I did writing it), there is still a shared ideal of what is good and evil. What has not yet been accepted is the neutral ground, the normal ground. Some things can't be classed as good or evil. I mean medicine, medicine is good. But if taken in large quantities, it can result in death. A pillow is good, but it has many times in the past been used to asphyxiate people.

? I think you've spectacularly missed the point.
Also, it's irrelevant that I only saw part of the program. What I saw was absolutely wrong and horrifically traumatising. If you believe that context justified it, then youre just fooling yourself into thinking that it was something other than a titilating display of the most outrageous and vulgar varieties.
