it's the 文 character. the pronunciation is mando, but i'm a canto person...

using the loan amortisation formula (QMA dear):

n = 50
A = 300K
r = 0.06

R = A x [ r / 1 - (1 + r)^-n ] = approx 19K

edit: btw, if you plug in R = 18K, A = 300K, r = 0.06, and attempt to solve for n, you actually find that R never decreases to 18K because as n approaches positive infinity, (1 + r)^-n approaches but never reaches 0 (horizontal asymptote at y = 0).

It's Swedish; Persson. The Swedish version of "Peterson", son of Peter (obviously).

I say it "pers-sohn", but my family says "person" (like you would the english word), although both are incorrect. It's supposed to be said more along the lines of as you would say "passion".

Chosing a Chinese name should be as complex and difficult as it is for the parents.

Yeah, hence my alternate pronounciation of it.

It's not as bad as to start using an alternate name (I sould use peterson); one of my family friend's surname is "Ferniehough". They always call themselves Smith when booking a resteraunt.
