Im just interested to find out how many people actually enjoy the subjects they do and didnt pick them simply because they "scale well" or because they will be required as assumed knowledge in a future career.

im quite happy to be doing only subjects which i enjoy doing ^^

I love them all, save one. The majority of them are a complete wank and full of bull shit, regardless, I still adore them.

Yer I was like you. Maths was the bomb when I was a junior. Nothing really phased me. I never studied, and just litened in class. Top'd regardless.
But now it isn't working so well.

it annoys me so much when so many students from my school simply do subjects because they "scale well".

most want to get into law or medicine and don't even have any interest in those careers - they just pay well..

argh, does this piss anyone else off?

man that sucks, nothing worse than a horrid teacher. just try studying with your friends and work more on your own, only way youll do well by the looks of things. for math dont rely on teachers

Shit yeah, I love all of my subjects... but they're getting stressful

I have an ancient exam worth 30% in a few days which is making me very unhappy with the subject.

another thing which ive noticed is how many people rely on tutoring in order to "excell" in their subjects. this makes them reliant on the tutor and they never really develop proper independant study patters (i am generalising, there are exceptions). However it is mainly tutor reliant people that tend to not enjoy their subjects as much because they view the hsc as an "obstacle" rather than a learning opportunity.

its all difference of mindset.

out of scale (1-10) of how much I like my subjects with 1 = hate, 10 = love

english - 6/10
mathematics ext 1: 7/10
mathematics ext 2: 10/10
economics: 8/10
ancient history: 6/10
studies of religion: 6/10
history extension: 5/10

so yeah.. woot! go maths ext2!
