I dont think its dosage related, LSD is actually one of the LEAST dangerous drugs (in pure physical harm terms). It can be a bit scary though and if you lose track of where you are and stuff that can be dangerous.
I thought it was dosage related? As in those those who use daily for extended periods of time?I guess there aren't enough cases to make a proper assessment...

how old are you anyway? alcoholic at the age of what, fourteen?

people who don't drink have friends and do get invited to parties idiot.

and when you get older, i know it's a long way off for you, but there's this thing called a designated driver, umm, and generally it's a rule that they don't drink, since your BAC has to be 0.

have fun ending up in hospital with alcohol poisoning. it's apparently a wonderful experience.
Being deso (something you wouldn't know about yet so stfu) is completely different to not drinking at all ( which has been proven to be worse for your health). Its a well known fact that people who dont get invited to parties either have no friends or have a small group of friends who are equally socially retarded. You and your friends, perfect example. I dont know anyone who has been affected by alcohol in a bad way other than excessive vomiting and the occasional small injury.

Doesn't those new anti-drinking ads state something like 25 young people are hospitalised every week due to alcohol. So thats like 25 out of like a couple million?? Dont i have a better chance of getting dick cancer?

Also lol yeah im in year 10, way to judge me based on my supposed hsc year. You'd be the first one to bitch about that if you were bagged out for being in year 12 you epic tard.

i don't care about whether drinking is 'good for your health'. i don't drink because i don't like it. i have nothing against people who do. unless you're taking personal attacks.

um yeah, it is a well known fact that people who don't get invited to parties have no friends. but we're talking about not drinking here. not having no friends. the two have nothing to do with each other.

about one of my actual friends has been hospitalised due to alcohol poisoning, but i know of a lot of other people.

and if i got bagged out for being in year twelve by someone older than me, i'd wonder why they were wasting time on bos. i know there's uni forums, but seriously.

I was the same way, never interested, hate the taste, etc

still hate the taste and never really go about 2 or 3 Stndrd on one night, and I usually just have diet coke. So it's pretty rare when I drink.

but I don't relax easily so it does help me get keen

easy tiger! I never called anyone an idiot and I don't know how you took that as an "obvious condemnation". The point that I was replying to was only in regard to negative aspects of certain drugs so I only talked about the negative aspects. The second part of that post has nothing to do with the comparison between alcohol and LSD. It's a response to other points made earlier in the thread.
Also you can get really fucked up from acid without being a chronic user. Obiously it helps but it's generally accepted that the psychological problems associated with acid are not necessarily quantity related. My point is that LSD has the potential to be dangerous in standard dosages. I agree with you about persistent drinking being typically worse for people than (moderated) recreational drug use. However IMO the fact that LSD can awaken domant psychological conditions in users makes it seem a bit worrying. BTW these issues are not that incredibly rare. They are rare but only like to the point of a couple in every thousand experiencing problems.

Don't assume that this makes me an anti-LSD man. Just the same way as I understand the negatives of alcohol yet still use it. I also understand the dangers of LSD but as you say am perfectly aware of all its positive aspects. It's my opinion that the psychological issues with LSD are more dangerous (though alot less likely) than the physical issues associated with alcohol. However i'm also of the belief that the positive aspects of LSD are considerably greater than the positive effects of alcohol.
Regular alcohol use is more likely to cause mental health problems than regular LSD use.

looool the good old 'you're finished yr12 why are you even still on bos' arguement, nice one tard.

You'd get bagged out by someone older than you because you are still in school and know very little of the outside world, due to having a sheltered life, non-existant social life and general retardation.
i like your variety of insults. the creativity is blowing my mind.

and how would you know what my life experiences have been like? so piss off and stop making assumptions.

I don't drink - better for my body, my wallet, and my overall well-being. Besides, I like to think that I don't need alchohol to relax or socialise more effectively. When I am enjoying myself, I want it to be real - and to experience everything with heightened senses. Plus, it just doesen't taste THAT good.

yep Alcohol side effects = quantity related
LSD side effects = not quantity related.
I'm starting to think that because of this fact making an objective call on which is more harmful is a bit unrealistic.
Pretty keen to ditch this line of conversation btw. Is getting dull. lol

lol, well there you go. I have already suggested that LSD is less harmful to society than alcohol and acknowledge that in high quantities alcohol is also worse in effect. But the fact that LSD can trigger prolonged psychological effects from a small dosage no doubt means that it is potentially quite dangerous. It all comes down to the viewpoint from which you look at the two. IMO alcohol is slightly less risky because it allows you to control the level of impact it has on you through moderation. But that's me. I'm sure a detailed study will tell you that the numbers are in favour of LSD being safer...

"It also gave too much importance to unusual reactions, which would only affect a tiny number of users"

From the link I posted above. Those reactions are exceedingly rare. You're being hysterical.

"He highlighted the fact that one person a week in the UK dies from alcohol poisoning, while less than 10 deaths a year are linked to ecstasy use."

No deaths, ever are linked to LSD use.

You're almost certain, as far as we can be certain of anything, not going to get any major pyschological effects even from lifetime use of LSD, let alone a single use. It has a major advantage in never becoming compulsive or dependent as an alcoholic may.

I rarely drink. Though, due to this I'm now such a light weight when I do drink. I had two cruisers the other day and was tipsy. Lols :shy:
I know quite a few girls who get drunk off 2 or 3 drinks.... I don't think it is that unusual.
