Don't burn yourself out at gym, I use to go there 3-4 times a week after school, I find my self totally exhausted when I got home and had to take a nap, it wasn't until like 7-8pm that I actually started studying.
That's 'cause you're weak.

I was wondering if anyout there has the experience where they have played sport/exercised and can come back more focused on study.

Whereas if they lie and sit around, go to parties and sleep in. It gets harder to concentrate and focus on study.
"Healthy body: healthy mind"

Obviously the two don't imply eachother, however it is hard to have one without the other.

Whether or not being fit does in fact improve your intellectual abilities, athletics or sports are both fun and physically stimulating, and you feel better about life being healthier, too.

i'm not within the healthy weight range for my height. i'm like about 17kg under it.

i'm a excercise junkie without effort. its fun. i always play tennis and cricket whenever i can. and i walk A LOT!

apparently playing a sport where you have to constantly be concentrating on what's happeneing and have to think quickly ie soccer or basketball , helps your brain when it comes to studying as your brain is constantly active and alert, rather than being half asleep for 20 hours of the day when you're sitting in front of the tv or sleeping

i play soccer, and continued playing during the hsc, and found this to be true, yes you're tired but a quick shower fixes that :p

and also i think it brings out the competitiveness out of someone when they play sport. there is a drive to do something. its a metaphorical situation; use it to your advantage.

not that watching television all day long, has'nt got competitiveness. there is one thought that constantly lingers, or several:

"should i go and take a piss/shit after during the adds?"
"should i have one more can of coke?"
"should i get up to change the channel, since the reomte is out of reach?"

it depends wat exercise u do. most of my "study help" kinda exercise involves running crazily around my room in circles and punching things when im having trouble remembering or concentrating. And it helps. :) I tried doing the whole running round the block thing but it just made me annoyed coz of all the hills around my house. Never been to the gym n never will go :p

try the royal national park for a good walk/hike. i went there just yesterday. the track from audley to engadine is quite difficult. the serene atmosphere and the sweet air is realy rejuvinating. it gets your mind off work completely until someone reminds us of it?! ggrrr....
