during engineering degrees is industrial training required at nsw?

it depends which engineering school you go to, some good some bad et cetera

Industrial training is required at all Universities. It is an Engineers Australia requirement that students do at least 12 weeks work experience.

UNSW Engineering is one of (if not the) most respected by industry. Note that the UAI is affected by many things and can be artificially inflated in a number of ways by Uni's. Never use it as a guide to quality. You should do your own research, go to all the Open Days and talk to people in the industry for advice.

UNSW engineering's cutoff is lower than other unis because their intake is larger, so don't base your decision upon that. Also it's hard to say which is 'better' out of UNSW, USyd and UTS for any degrees except for electrical, which UNSW is ahead in by leaps and bounds.

if you are going by UAIs which you shouldn't, UNSW engineering cutoff is now 85, which is probably equal or greater than most unis now.

Only the 'official' UAI. The true UAI for a lot of Uni's is much lower than this.

Well if you want to do engineering and get a UAI less than 75 it means everything. If you are in this boat look at UWoll and others that allow 'direct' entry. Regional Unis including UWoll also have a cutoff of 5 less than the published UAI for those living in their region. Region for UWoll includes The Shire I believe.
