OK!!!!!! seeing as i started this thread and i thought id only get 5 replies, which would of satisfied me, ive got over 200 and its all non-sense, i would like to end it...lol

Engineering and Business in my opinion are the greatest courses currently in uni. They both help in society in ways we cant imagine, they are both superior and in some areas inferior to each other, but that does not mean there not both excellent courses with powerful future prospects.

but overall each person who replied is likely to be bias to the situation:

We each do a course because will love it...others cause of prestige/lifestyle/money.....

but engineering does relate to business
combined courses a offered at usyd, uts, unsw..... its because its a GREAT combination of skills and knowledge that can take a student to superior places.

They're also the reason we've attained an amazing view of our place in the Universe.

An engineer may have made it possible, I agree with that. But in all honestly get over yourselves and I'm saying this to business students as well.

Chances are you are going to just work in a job, do your job well and not contribute much. It probably more true for business students than for engineers, i.e. engineers probably have a greater chance of creating something of use through the work they do. However, just because you study engineering does not automatically mean you will invent something useful. Just because you are a commerce student, doesn't mean you will achieve anything of merit that you can go and say yeah I'm the shit, it also doesn’t mean that you won’t.

Those people who did invent something of use did it not because of what they studied, but rather because of who they were individually. Who there were pulled them towards what they decided to study, but what you fail to see is it is the individual and not the degree that makes a person successful. If you think you are going to do a business degree and make excessive amounts of money you are kidding yourself. Similarly, you are kidding yourself if you think because you studied engineering that you are going to invent something amazing. People who do create change are innovators and have a strong interest, passion and desire to make a difference. Let’s be honest anyone who bothers to take the time out to write on this thread probably will not contribute anything earth shattering to the world.
