how exactly do you people come to the estimates you give people, i understand that good ranks in a good school = high UAI.

But nobody knows anything of the cohort that year, a school ranked in the 700s might have a top year this year, and UAC uses complicated scaling and formulae... but here it seems to be, look at their ranks and school rank, and take a pot shot

Yeh, you can take a look at a person's school and subject ranks and decide on what UAI he/she is going to get. This can be estimated by people who has been here a long time and understands the system and every other contributing factor really well.
