my ethernet port doesnt work

how can i make it work?

you can start by telling us what you are trying to network. and do you have a hub

either ur cable is screwed
or your network card is screwed

im using network card, connecting to my cable modem

it works using USB but not ethernet, but i need it to use ethernet to connect to my network

the pc/activity light still blinks with the ethernet plugged in, just that im not receiving any data

you mean your computer doen't find your cable modem?

you need to look up the manual of the modem to see what ip addresses you should use. or if you can use DCHP

Go to My Computer then My Network Places (Under "Other Places") and then View Network Connections (Under "Network Tasks").

the screen ppl want to see is the 'Network Connections' under Control Panel.

make sure the device is working. System> Device Manager

yeah the ethernet should be under network adapters?

it only has my modem under "network adapters"

tried taking the card out,
blow some magic dust on it,
place it back in.

sometimes that helps.
