Asian parents, brother got like 80's or something and my mum and dad were all "You didn't even put the effort." I asked them "How would you or mum know? You go off to work and don't come home till 10:30pm and mum's always fucking baking."

So yeah I was being compared to my older bro, and my mum and dad were expecting something like this.

So yeah, I might just pack up and leave this begrudging house.

I already know where I can go.

Lol.

Oh, my dad who's barely involved in my life texted me asking how I went. I told him 81.40 and he's like, "is that good?"

Um, yeah. Parents are pretty oblivious to everything HSC-related.

Me: Mother! Father! Have I ever such grand news! State rankings for English and Legal! That's two whole subjects!
Them: Only two?
Me: :santa:

The next day

Me: Mother! Father! I have worked hard the whole 6 years and present you the fruits of my labour, a 99.85 UAI!
Them: Wonderful! That gets you a scholarship no?
Me: Actually I missed out on the Scientia Scholarship by 0.05
Them: That's only $10 000.
Me: Per year.
Them: Hang your head in shame.

Me: I got 99.7
Dad: What happened to the other 0.3?

I think he was trying to be funny, but it was just another bad joke

Me: Yay I'm happy
Mum: Yay! you beat Nick (my cousin)
Dad: Did she beat Scotty's (his mate) kid?
Bro: Nope
Dad: Damn...I mean, well done Honey

My UAI was 89.45 and I'm guessing the reaction will be something like "To bad we can't say you got 90. Would you like us to lie to the family? Oh dear...and thus I have not told them yet.

Both parents are high school teachers, so were starting work as I got the results. I was then inundated with messages from the teaching and yr 12 student populations of the two local high schools (one parent at each) as they told everyone.
They only really wanted the UAI for bragging purposes; I got into Arts-Law UOW in September.
