Well it's going to be my first job so what are the pro's and con's between the two? on the top of my head, im pretty sure working at the front could be less tiring than cooking the stuff although having to deal with rude customers would be a bitch. are there any heads up for dealing with rude/bad customers (idk maybe they have a heavy accent or something :p) or any stories you wish to share? :D

Just a warning, even if you don't deal with rude customers working back you'll still have to deal with people working front shouting at you and telling you to hurry up. I've only ever worked front so I can't really compare, but front isn't bad.

Front is easier, less work to do but it can generally be boring because you can't talk as much and are often put in isolated areas where your alone. Back, depending on the amount of customers can either be really fast paced and full on or slow. I work in back and I find the enjoyment of back comes from talking to people, so really it depends on who is working. For rude customers the way it goes in retail is that they are always right, unless of course they are obviously wron about something you must assume they are right and play bitch to them. A tip for finding out what chain to work out ill give you a tip, Maccas is the worst for pay but the best for your future regime. :)

Front Pros:
-Not as fast paced as back during busy hours
-Has fresher air (to me)
-Has a chance to meet new people
-Don't really get yourself dirty etc

Front Cons:
-Dealing with annoying people
-Requires you to be neater than people at the back
-Requires you to be polite most the times
-Requires you to do cleaning if there's no customers (depending on location of store)

Back Pros:
-Don't have to deal with the customers
-Don't have to be as neat as people in front
-Can get away with not wearing uniform correctly haha

Back Cons:
-Could be more tedious than front
-Much warmer in temperature than front
-Air feels terrible there

When I worked at Maccas I did both the front and the back. When I was at the back I always had to do the fries and it was so hot there and I've accidentally burnt myself before (but not severely). When I was at the front it was just getting people's orders and giving them the food. If they're extremely rude or have retarded complaints then just get the manager to deal with it. Otherwise if it's just normal rudeness then just ignore it and apologise for their problems.

Haha it just depends on the person I think. From what I've heard, kfc has rather decent pay (compared to maccas) so it should be alright. And if it's at a shopping mall then you won't have to do much cleaning. Well once I got a complaint that the burger wasn't properly wrapped, the apple pie was burnt on the corner (it was just a darker brown sigh) and that there was strawberry in the frozen coke.....Sometimes people are just picky and you may need to redo or something. Always check with manager first though.

Btw, if you're looking for another part time job, there will be more open to you once you have some experience. Usually places with better conditions require experience of some sort. Have you done work exp before? It was compulsory for my school I think.

Well I used my work exp to go to a hospital because I want to pursue medicine. If you aren't sure of what you want to do in the future then perhaps going to somewhere that may help your career prospects now would be good eg - I have friends who were like that who went Myer and then they got hired there afterwards.

Places with better conditions really depends because some people actually like working at fast food places (I'm not one). It could be something else like working at a retail store or a pharmacy or even maybe a local coffee shop. Personally I preferred working at a local coffee shop rather than fast food. It just sort of depends what places you want.
