From the little I've read of Chuck Palahniuk, he's amazing. I'm also a fan of John Wyndham, and Orwell as well.

Oh, the plays of Harold Pinter are great as well.

Stephen King, John Grisham and Raymond Feist - read nearly everything they have written multiple times.

Also enjoy Michael Crichton, Alexandre Dumas, JRR Tolkien, James Patterson, Brian Jacques, Matthew Reilley, Maggie Furey, J K Rowling, R L Stine, David Eddings, John Marsden, Terry Brooks, Isaac Asimov, Frank Herbert, Thomas Harris, David Martin...could go on for hours.

Love reading so almost anything goes - except sparkle-pony vampires.

i don't have one single author that i favour.

instead, i have a few:

sylvia plath, virginia woolf, george orwell, truman capote, oscar wilde and katherine mansfield.
adding:

jack kerouac, allen ginsburg, william s. burroughs, emily bronte.
