For any of you who have done or doing CMI, can you please advise how you found your tutor (and who they are). Or even still, if you are an acclaimed CMI genius, please come forward. I have a tonne of questions but my tutor pretty much sucked and I'd like to see someone who is helpful!

Thanks.

Yeh he's not a bad guy IN class... he's harsh via emails. "We talked about this in class..." and "Next time ask questions in class... "

I suppose it didn't help that I didn't rock up to a single lecture. How's this Jerry bloke? Any good?

Andrew Ross was great; very helpful tutor...doesn't force anyone to participate, and reluctantly writes the answers onto the whiteboard...usually done in 30-40 minutes, instead of the full 50 minutes required.

More tips to the FINS1612 exam, since Andrew read over it the day before of our last tute...(in addition to Jerry's one)

1. Fairly evenly spread between Ch8-14 in the 75MC
2. A more thorough section on Financial Fowards and Futures, you need to know
a) the difference between the two
b) the applications and situations of the two
c) calculations of Forwards and Futures
3. know the application of the Interest Rate Parity Formula (in conjunction with the formula sheet)
4. NO calculuations on Swaps/Options, only Theory...

Luck with all for studying this pretty boring textbook...

Thanks for your post. *still writing notes*
It takes AGES to write notes for CMI... probably as you said, cos the textbook is so boring. Read 2 pages & fell asleep today... gah.

They are really harsh markers... dunno how that genius scored 29.5/30 for the midsession...

Yeah I have a feeling Harry's going to give me a shi* CP mark, judging by the comments he writes in his emails.

Oh well, we've still got time... good luck!

nah, different tute then :p

Coz 1613 is the pre-req for 2624 :)
Lots of ppl do 1612 and 2624 together, mainly coz well, 1612 its not a req for any further finance subject (except 2622 if you choose it).

Oh darn, that would've been kinda spooky being in the same tute room & meeting now.

I'm doing 1612 & 1613 together... never even thought about doing 2624... oh well.

It's been a rather slow... looong process but I have only 2.5 chapters to go. I've put CMI study at a stop right now cos I've got accounting on Friday. When's your first exam?

What is this sample MC everyone's talking about? I can't find it
