floppy disk problem (1 Viewer)

okay this is probably a stupid question/problem but ill ask anyway

i was working on my PIP (really important school work) and when i went to save it to my floppy disk for the final time it screwed up and now i cant open it. i get a message saying that the filename or pathway is invaild.
i really have no idea how to fix it and i know i should have saved it to the computer as well but im stupid.

please help i reallllyyyy need this work its worth 30% of my hsc!

u cant do anything about a corrupt floppy disk... My advice is never save things to floppy disk directly, if you need to take things to and from school use a thumb drive or an internet storage space, e.g. yaoho briefcase.

Nothing you can do about the disk though. Sorry.

i dotn use floppies anymore. send a copy to yuor email, then save a copy an portable usb thingy. buy a 128mbs one. its only $40 or so

Correct. Your harddrive is the storage which is least likely to corrupt.

ok think back...is there any possibility your work could be saved anywhere else?

i've had heaps of problems with floppy disks, i don't use them anymore.

at least you now know that a) floppys are gay and b) save your work in more than one place.

nah i know its only on the damn disk. im going tomorrow to buy one of those ubs ports or wat eva they are, at least i learnt from my mistake, but at a big cost.

hmmm well hope you learnt your lesson

Always save to numerous places.....

I probally go over the top. I save to my USB drive, my computer, send a copy to both my school and gmail accounts, and regulary back up my school directory to my ipod harddrive.

Pfft a PIP written off the top of your head would get fuck all anyway, oh and from memory its worth more than 30% eg it counts for 30% assessment+50%exam
