Are you too stupid to see the correlation? It's not that the leaders are "fucked up up and useless" because the country is fucked up and useless. The country is fucked up and useless because the leaders are fucked up and useless.
Also have to take into consideration the civil unrest caused by the Taliban as fucking the country up. But I guess the extent to which that was let run wild was due to shit leaders.

what do you suggest they do then, despot?
The people of Pakistan need to firstly rid themselves of the radical Islamic elements which exist in the outskirts of their country.

Secondly they need to find selfless leaders with the countries interests at heart, leaders which do not have any agendas of self-enrichment or power, and will be capable of enriching the lives of the people of Pakistan.

Thirdly they must eradicate all the corruption in government agencies and the public sector by imposing harsh penalties on all those who would seek to take advantage of their positions. They must systematically conduct purge after purge on all levels of the public sector, starting off with the police.

Fourth, they must fully control the military and remove the underlying autonomy which exists there.

Fifth, they must work more closely with the constitution (which as it stands is not so bad at all).

The problem with Pervez Musharraf was he was not worthy of the name leader. He ran a military junta and not a government and because of that he aided in the radical Islamic element which built up in the outskirts of Pakistan. The problem was elevated with the U.S funding which worsened the country significantly and pushed more and more people towards what we see now.

Pakistan is WROUGHT with corruption. So much so infact that it can not function properly. That is a major problem at present and because of that nothing else is going to work properly.

Pretty damn comprehensive. Now all you need to do is go over to Pakistan and get started. To rid Pakistan of the radical Islamic elements you will need good hiking boots and a large, pointy stick.

It's not anti-Jew, it's anti-Israel. Though I'm not "anti" Israel myself, I do think there is that there is an important distinction between the two.

How can anyone with an anti-jewish symbol in their post have an opinion that can be respected? Pretty obvious they have their own agenda.
How can anyone be so stupid that they cannot distinguish between anti Israel and anti jew. Pretty obvious they have down syndrome.

hang on we been down this road before in a sense (the denmark cartoons)
(where an Islamic icon/idea has been stepped on )

and based on that i'd say all it will do is provoke the extremist element of islam into attacks aggainst france (maybe even upto 9/11 levels) where either the legislation will be removed or peoples fear/hatred of islam will escalate to the point we have not seen before.

but as some of you have said before... IMO both roads of either implementing or not implementing this policy will inevitably lead france down a dark road that is not easily avoidable.

Point taken.

Most anti-Israel members go on and on about the "Jewishscumoftheearthcuntbagssonsofbitches", or some shorter variation of this.

Yes western democracies should make policy decisions based on their fear of muslim nutters. France has applicable laws. If they riot they can go to jail.

"I support Sarkozy, not because I am racist, but because what he was speaking about, even though he might be personally biased, is the basis of the philosophies of liberty which France and subsequently the Western world has been built upon."

im not so surprised by many people's responses..but JONATHONM u say that western world is built on liberty and thus u support sarkozy for his comments.

a definition from wikipedia on liberty: Liberty is a concept of political philosophy and identifies the condition in which an individual has the right to act according to his or her own will.

so if the western world is built on liberty and democracy and the right to act according to a person's own free will, then wouldn't sarkozy's comment and hence yours be seen as hypocritical? These women WANT to wear the burqa and under WESTERN PHILOSOPHY have the right to do so. if they are not accepted into the bank or are not able to get a job based on their dress then they are being discriminated against and OPRESSED! thus democracy has not been practised.

its funny how people say these women are subjected to oppression yet when they do something they want to do people condemn their rights! that is always the case with high status political figures and the media...its a pity people fall victims to such hypocrites.

I highly doubt that the first part of this sentence is the case for the majority
Agreed. The Burqa represents dirty backwards Pakistani tribal culture. In Islam, women are second to men, the Burqa is just the practical application of that idea. I agree with banning it, but I fear that if it is banned, the men will not even let the women out of the house.

Why are there so many ignorant people such as yourself considering information on this topic is so readily available? Why don't you research it or just learn the basics before spouting this nonsense?

Islam has no requirement for women to wear either the hijab, niqab or buqa set up they are option as far as Islam goes. It is optional.
