ok.. but this was a particulary harmful rape, and they were trying to send a message... at the moment i really think we're starting to have a problem with guys (and girls) not respecting women sexually.

the government shouldnt be making examples of ppple, just to get a point acrosss.
Sentences should be reasonable ---- the sentences in this case were rediculusly harsh.
Raping is just rooting someone..........many rape victims are probably permiscuous anyways...... and thats how they got into the position of being raped. There is tooo much sympathy for rape victims. (guys being raped by guys is very different though..thats a very serious crime.)
For raping a few chicks..u dont deserve 55 years........15 years is plenty...
I think its like their first serious offences etc....and they should get a more lenient sentence to give them a chance to rehabilitate.
As for u morons who complained about murderers.........a large portion of murderers kill ppple who are scum bags or who have wronged them.
For example, there are ppple in jail who have beeen shot or stabbed and have gone and killled their attacker..... ..............got into a fight.......and bashed the guy to death... I dont know the exact percentage,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but im confident....that a huge portion of murderers are justified .... They shouldnt even be in jail at alll....
There has been many cases in the media..... where someone has killled someone in retaliation for voilent attack on themselves or family memember or freinds etc. Which is completely justifiable in my eyes.
Killling totally innnocent ppple on purpose should attract a very harsh sentence...but when u have a goood reason....................u should only serve 5 to 10 years maximum and in many cases u shouldnt be sent to jail at alll.
Only the worst criminals should be in jail anyways........murders, rapists obviously should go on first offfence........but most other criminals should be given a few chances before they are sent there.
In relation to this case,,,,,,,,,,the person who said..they were convicted etc....and therefore the witness shouldnt have to testify again. They didnt get a fair trial the first time................. Every care should be taken to ensure they receive a fair trial.this time and that includes their right to face their accusers..........
Every one in this country should have the right to present their case and face their accusers........... just because chicks want to have a soook and talk about truama etc etc....................we shouldnt change the rules..
Seriously, the government. is..undermining our legal system to apppease feminists and other worthless minorities and it should be stoppped.

In regards to proving rape on a dead woman, it is possible. An autopsy can prove it - something about the location of brusing round the entrance being different if there is resistance from the woman - theres more if she resists, and it's in a different area. I can't remember exaclty, but you can prove rape even if the woman is dead.
Also, the arguments bout sentencing -- if they stand to get 55 years for rape, then whats stopping them from killing the woman? She's hardly going to be able to run to the cloest police station if she's decapitated in a ditch somewhere. If 25 to life is the sentence for premeditated murder, and yet, you've heard these other rapists receving 55 and 32 years, you'd be more inclinded to kill your victim.

dont they always say people deserve a second chance....well after 55 years u dont really get a second chance at life...although after about 5 years in jail im sure most inmates if they were released would neva dare commit a crime again....not that im saying rapists should get only 5 years......but sometimes u do things in the heat on of the moment..or ur not thinking clearly...like my neighbour who walked in on his wife cheating on him so he choked her to death...so like hes kinda gone know.......doubt he'll eva get out....everyone should be given a second chance is what my ramble is trying to get at....AND everyone who rapes should then get the same penalty...not one get 55 years and one get only a few....

You'd find alot of inmates in NSW correctional facilities do indeed re-offend. And deserve a second chance? Give them a second chance to gang rape a few more girls, why not. Sex offenders usually do re-offend, especially when they have the mindset of these bastards - the 'You deserve it because of what you are' mindset. 5 Years in gaol is an insult to the victims and their families. Send them to a nation who castrates sex offenders, and then perhaps we might give them a second chance.

No, I'm saying the primary motivation behind rape is a demonstration of power - In this case, these men men gang raped these girls to prove to themselves and their mates the power the could yeild over their victims. Moreover, rapists pick victims they deem inferior and weak. Rape, usually is not motivated by sexual reasons. This is what I'm basing my presuption on. That rapists in general feel they are above their victims and they are stronger and often even feel they have the right to rape their victims. I'm basing this forensic psychologoy research, not sensalitionalised media reports.
