You cannot quote that statement and qualify it with 'occasionally'. There is no wiggle room in that statement.
'Occasionally' in the context of throughout the "raising a child" process. Not as in it applies to certain individuals and instances.

You can't compare a male and a female.
E.g, In case of raising a child

Father: Strong, unemotional, most of the time busy at work in order to provide a living for his family. Essentially has the role of "toughening up the child"
Mother: Caring, emotional, forgiving, generally more dedicated to the task of raising the child. (i.e has to labour less compared to father)

Therefore, each has their unique role that the other cannot do. They both COMPLEMENT each other.

Females however cannot optimally do some jobs. I.e you wouldn't expect her to be a lawn mower, plumber, etc.

Similarly with males, they cannot optimally do some jobs. I.e baby sitting, midwifery, etc.

Which brings me back to my point, both genders cannot be compared, they merely complement each other and are purely dependent on one another.
This 'complementing each other' argument is overdone in religious and anti-gay circles. I don't like or agree with it because there are so many gender variant people in the world, it simply isn't true for everyone.

There is no reason why either sex is better or worse at any of the jobs you mentioned.

Sure, there might be social reservations with guys babysitting or being midwives, and it might be seen that jobs requiring physical labour are more suited to a man; but there is no reason why a woman cannot be a fantastic plumber.

Also, my Dad never 'toughened' me up. My mother is the example I always looked to for strength.

In conclusion, you're a tool.

(Is this better?)

Edit: again, at ibbi00
Exactly, although I know I'd prefer to not work as a brickie personally.

you're saying that the ability of homosexual couples to raise a child would pale in comparison to heterosexual couples.

that's what
Wait for it... :D

yeah but emperor penguins are tougher.
Fairy penguins are still cuter.

women are annoying and cant argue and they dont understand international relations but other than that theyre ok
So ALL women are annoying and whatever the other crap you said automatically applies to them, says the person with 2 whole posts. Wrong.

This reminds me of a joke I once heard:
One day God came to Adam and said, 'I've got some good news and some bad news.'
Adam: 'Well, give me the good news first.'
God: 'I've got two new organs for you. One is called a brain. It will allow you to be very intelligent, create new things, and have wonderful conversations with Eve. The other organ I have for you is called a penis. It will allow you to reproduce your new intelligent life form and populate this planet.'
Adam, very excited, exclaimed: 'These are great gifts you have given to me. What could possibly be bad news after such great tidings?'
God: 'The bad news is that I only gave you enough blood one of these organs at a time.'
