6 subintervals = 7 function values

And as for the radium one, it was about the ratio (ie after 1600 it was half: Ae^(-k x 0) = 2Ae^(-k x 1600), and the A's cancelled out then you just had to use normal log laws and such to figure out k.

wow... what can i say.. what the hell is wrong with all of you? that exam was easy.. by far the easiest exam in the past 5 years... i have done every past paper from 1921 onwards and this was easy peasy... Q10 was a joke, finished it in 5 minutes... why did everyone think it was so hard? 115+/120 for sure :):) i love math

WTF was up with the decay question about radium? I swear there wasn't even enough information to complete the answer! That test was dodgy...

I thought that question was good.
It did have enough info. I didn't think so at first but once i did it it all came out :)

But overall, the test was crap.
Harder than I expected...
But then again, if i'd done a little more practice on certain things I think I would've been right. My own fault :(

I honestly thought the exam was pretty easy compared to the past few years, questions 8-10 were much simpler. Question 6 with the rollercoaster was pretty tough but if you understood the question it was no biggy.

Re: Man that was a hard paper!

It wasnt ridiculously hard, but the questions were very unconventional.

Well we're sorry..not everyone does 90 years worth of exam papers.
Congrats on the effort though. 100% well deserved there..:)

Oh my god. Band 3 here I come! It was awful. Despite not having answered half the questions, the ones I did do, I could hardly do.

Ah well.

LOL @ HAVING TO DIVIDE A TRIANGLE INTO 4 PARTS.

i'm kinda relieved that most non-retarded people found the test easy. Hopefully the marks that come back will pleasantly surprise deserving students.

The radium question was easy, you just let Q = 50 and A = 100

50 = 100e^(-1600k)

Because it tells you that it takes 1600 years for the amount of radium to reduce by half, use anything..100 and 50.. 1 and 1/2 etc..
