I can't even access my UniMail. I type in my Student ID preceded by a 'z', and for my password I use the same one I use for the UNSW Portal. Doesn't work.

yeah - i had this problem too and i was told i had to agree to the terms and conditions - and its not really obvious how to do it....

"C Traps & pitfalls" and "programming probelm solving & abstraction with C"

Are they both necessary?

I have training etc. for this new job next week, but it really clashes with my timetable. And all my tutes start in the first week.

They said I could e-mail them back if I had any problems making it, but I want to turn up to training because the more training I get, the more shifts I'll have.

So the 'schedule' for the work is:

MONDAY: we will look to conduct a "potential supervisors" meeting on Monday afternoon/evening.

TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY (Day): throughout the day will be a series of multiple group training sessions, specialising on specific areas.

TUESDAY (Night): (most probably) we will have a FULL STAFF MEETING. We will have all paperwork filled and submitted here and talk through our focuses for the coming days and weeks. (You will be surprised how quickly you will pick up the knowledge)

THURSDAY: Our 1st FULL DAY OF TRADE (Opening)

And my timetable is like so:

I'm mostly worried about Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I think I most probably can skip Thursday.

Just relax and attend your training. Your reason for being absent is legit and so you should not panic.

And what do you do in tutes first week, if you haven't had the lectures yet? Why have made my tutes start 1st week for?

ask sum randoms in your next lecture which books to get. i think u can go to the unsw bookshop and see the prescribed books..i think those ones are compulsory...all of the recommeneded ones i dont think u will need them..unless the lecturer says so...but even then i might not get them...because im a cheap cunt.

Consider what would happen to a person who enrol in this course after week 1. Surely they missed the same thing as you. What would they do? just ask in first tutorial what you have missed. No one is going to scream at you. Trust me, most people write the most useless crap during the first lecture thinking it is the most important piece of information for the exam.... right, mark distribution, lecture consultation room blah blah... probably already outline in a handout or something. Like I said before not everyone is going to get things right first time, so don't worry and proceed to your training.

If you have to rely on someone, you will make friends when you enter tut/lecture, ok? This is a non-issue, so chillout and go to your training.
