Anyone recommend a good tutoring college in burwood? I don't want to go too far(in terms of location).

Desperate and waiting online.

If this is Burwood in Melbourne, if you can get to Box Hill or Glen Waverley they'll be lots around you.

I went to Studio 98 Education, they were great, they're in Box Hill though, but very close to the station, would recommend them!

Burwood has many tutoring centres and you'll past by most of them if you venture down Burwood Rd. I have been to about three but it might not necessarily be ideal for you. It all stems back down to what subjects you are looking for and whether you prefer one-on-one or class.

Top % Coaching(K-12) is a centre that provide small class and one to one coaching. The tutors are usually university student but they're usually a hit or a miss depending on who you get. Some teachers are more prepared and devoted than others.

The HSC Specialist (HSC Chem and Physics not sure if they do preliminary or not). You won't really find much on them online. I went there for a trial and they have relatively medium classes. The class i was in probably had 20-30 students. They have two different teachers I think. The classes are more vocal and less theory oriented in the classes I attended. This means you'll have to make your own notes. They do provide syllabus notes for you as well as resources and homework. Proficiency Education/

Vertex Education (Prelim and HSC but provides maths for 8-12): They provide all subjects to my knowledge. They have classes (mostly 2.5hrs) for a majority of subjects from referencing their pamphlet. They also one-on-one tutoring but I'm not quite sure how long that is. They have a mixture of school teachers and uni students as tutors. Teachers mainly take the classes.

Dux College: I have not been to this one, though some of my friends go to their Parramatta location. They are like your average coaching centres e.g. Pre-uni, James An...

Matrix: not in Burwood but in Strathfield. These are one of the higher tier coaching centres from what I hear. I've never been there as it is a relatively more costly.

Not really sure if this is what your looking for and there maybe better choices out there for you but it's just a list of centres I've been to or heard about. Happy tuition hunting.

What subjects are you looking to get tutored in? I went to Alpha Omega during my HSC years. The tutors there are really good, especially the maths ones. It's just across the road from the new library.

Zhang's is pretty good, you understand the physical concepts and not just recite it like some poem. I went to Matrix for a term and found it to be the biggest waste of time and money (mostly due to the fact the i had a 'bad' teacher there). But if your a Burwood and do Physics or Chem I definitely recommend Zhangs.

How come though?
For the trial class I went to
- the teacher was 8 minutes, bad first impression but I let that slide
- 70% of the time, the teacher was going over tenses. I was like are you fkn serious, if you still trouble with tenses, you are probably somewhat mentally impaired
- as a person trialing, the teacher won't help you at all, you'll treated like you aren't there at all. Although, most tutroing centres only see you as a money source, they at least make it subtle. I only asked a simple question and the manager was like yea we'll answers your query after you join the class. Could see the dollar signs in the old lady's eyes.
- if you want to join the class, you have to pay the full amount for the trial class you went to, seventy fucking dollars. obviously, I just left, can't stand that madness.
- compass, you can suck my balls.
