Well, for the people starting in 2002, we were told a few days before our preferences were due to be finalised that USyd were going to raise their uai cutoffs for a number of courses.
So I guess that my point is that anything can be changed at any time.

hey dazed don't be so worried you know most people don't know what they want to do, like, ever. (that's what mid life crises are all about hehe..)

once u reach uni, the amount of times people change courses will astound you. i'm not saying you should totally not give a shit about which course u [first start to try and] do.. but just don't forget that you're not stuck there forever.
