Thats cuz your a boy, i honestly have not met a girl who is fully into the matrix, or a girl thats remotely liked the matrix at all.

i liked it - remember thinking it had great philosophical depth. this was a while ago, though, i've forgotten it now.

What about that body of his at the funeral? He can't have turned into a phoenix if his body's present infront of everyone. Although, professor McGonagall doesn't seem to be as touched by Dumbledore's death as I thought she would - perhaps she knew about dumbledore's plans with snape?

So Hagrid places Dumbledore's body on the table.. then this man makes a speech and when he stops speaking... read this part:

"Then several people screamed. Bright, white flames had erupted around Dumbledore's body and the table upon which it lay: higher and higher they rose, obscuring the body. White smoke spiralled into the air and made strange shapes: Harry thought, for one heart-stopping moment, that he saw a phoenix fly joyfully into the blue, but the next second the fire had vanished."

Maybe dumbledore, like a phoenix, will rise again from the ashes? The description could be more symbolic than literal.

Who cares whether or not Dumbledore is dead, I want to see how JK Rowling is gonna get Harry Potter the boy who got schooled and fluked a whole load of stuff, gets to super awesome now I can somehow stand a chance against Voldemort, in 1 book, without school, with or without Dumbledore.

I'm sure in an interview she talked about killing Harry off, although he talked about killing him off before the end of the series. Although I suppose the last book is before the end of the series.

In a way I don't mind...

Yep, someone asked whether she'd write anything about what Harry does after Hogwarts, and she replied, what makes you think he's going to live that long?

hmm, but what if they both die? evil is eliminated and harry has served his purpose - to elimate the evil.
its somewhat disillusioning to see harry post-Voldemort, very anti-climatic ala ellie at the end of john marsden's "tomorrow" series...
in that sense, i think harry might be 'killed off' and the others are already preparing for it, the clearest example being Ginny and how she realised Harry did not want to stretch a relationship needlessly (ok he says its coz she'll be a target but that is not what he was thinking...)
