35 pages, 8180 words (because I'm sure they won't bother actually counting my words.)
If you lie on the word count, and they find you out - you're getting zero.
They've read tons of major works before you and they have a pretty good idea of what is 6000 words and what is 8000 words.
To be on the safe side, you should cut out a bit because they give you that word range for a reason. They may give you the benefit of the doubt, they may not. Personally, I'd sacrifice 200 words rather than risk zero.
Most likely, you'll get past it - 180 words probably isn't that much, but... one never knows. You could get a very cranky marker who'll have an itchy trigger finger to give you the zero. You might not.
