How to write an essay (1 Viewer)

If the Board of Studies, teachers, and maybe even some of you recommend NOT to memorise essays, how do you write a calibre Band 6 essay on the spot? Whether it be for English (Standard and Advanced), Modern History, Ancient History, Studies of Religion, Economics, Business Studies, Legal Studies etc.
How can you improve on this skill?

You need to develop the skills needed to assist you to achieve a band 6 response through continuously practising and engaging with the material, there is no short cuts to success

- Understand essay structure
- ALWAYS ANSWER THE QUESTION
- Ensure your ideas come through and are sophisticated. No use "peppering" your essay with superfluous vocabulary if you can't articulate your ideas (see what I did there, or try to haha).
- Consistently write essays, get feedback and rewrite until you hit a high-A range.

It's like math, a lot of practice.
